During Covid 19 pandemic, a friend of mine asked me, if I wanted to join him at Warhammer 40k. We both played Fantasy when we were Teenagers, 40k was something new to us. Normally prefering Fantasy over the SciFi Stuff, I agreed anyhow and started an Ork Army. This was my first step back into Miniature Painting. So many things changed since the last time I swung a brush. There are other Minis than GW? Great! 3D printed Minis? Amazing! New Colours and techniques? Wow! And there are so many great inspirations out there, so many amazing content creators for miniature painting on youtube and social media. I learned a lot by only watching videos from Squidmar, Ebay Miniature Rescues, MidWinterMinis and all the others...
But first, I had to find a scheme for the Orks. And man, there were many Boyz to paint! I started in Jan 21 with GWs Start Collecting Box...

Amongst my first Minis were a DeffDread and Meganobz, besides many Boyz. I opted for a very easy color-scheme with a lot of drybrushing. Influenced from a youtube channel, I started to search for cheap Minis on Ebay and rescuing them. First, I purchased som Warbikers in serious bad shape.

After a while, we could play our first games. My friend, who started Ultramarines, beat me all the time :D Also, the terrain was very poor at that time.

That's how battles looked like at that time. I always started with a lots of Orks, but never made it to his battleline... And when I made it there, we were to few... :-D
